Living in Weston

Weston was ranked #1 in per capita income for towns and cities in Massachusetts in 2018. It also edged out Wellesley for the highest median single family home sale price at $1,537,500. Many of the homes are classic New England Colonials, but Weston has a diverse architectural heritage with its oldest home dating to 1695. The homes from the second half of the 19th century tend to be more modest, but by the 20th century, wealthy Boston businessmen began to move to the suburb and built larger country estates. The median age in Weston is 45, so expect to see families around town.

Weston is a tranquil community unto itself with winding tree lined country roads, no bars and few restaurants to attract non-resident traffic. You will find a small Town center with a few eateries, shops, and businesses where many of the owners will know you by name. Land’s Sake, the community farm, offers fresh produce, and also invites residents to tap maple trees for syrup and plant herbs alongside their farmers. There is no shortage of trails for hiking and solitary roads for biking. Weston has over 2,000 acres of conservation land with over 100 miles of trails. Cat Rock Park contains a large dog park, a lake, and open spaces for hiking. For winter outdoor fun, you can go to the Weston Ski Track where you or your kids can learn how to cross country ski or snowshoe. Weston is the perfect blend of small town living with easy access to city life and Logan Airport via the Mass Pike. Commuter rail service provides a 30 minute train ride to Boston’s North Station.
