Westwood was originally known as “The West Wood of Dedham” and seceded to form its own Town in 1897. It is situated at the junction of Route 95/128 with all the elements of a beautiful suburban community. Made up of pockets of neighborhoods serviced by one of the five elementary schools this bustling little town puts children and education on the list of top priorities. People are friendly and shopping is plentiful with the feel of small-town living.

University Station is Westwood’s newest mixed use development of retail, office and residential space, smartly developed near the Route 128 train station. Westwood has two commuter rail lines plus full MBTA bus service. Commuter rail and Amtrak trains from the Route 128 station, with ample garage parking, provides service to Boston for work or cultural related events or southbound to Providence, New Haven, New York City and Washington DC.

While you won’t find many sidewalks this Town has scenic country roads and maintains many recreational areas including of over 1200 acres of walking and hiking trails at Lowell Woods, at Currier Reservation and at Hale Reservation. The Town has two libraries, a senior center and numerous community-sponsored events for the Town's residents.
